No - they will happen - but you have lost site of reality - when they happen - they will be LATE - because they are LATE NOW ! Intel is moving forward quickly, especially in the mobile segment - and as they offer faster parts at good power requirements, it is going to take AMD longer to catch up to Intel. And if and when AMD does catch up, AMD will have the INFRASTRUCTURE problem to contend with - chip sets, motherboard - the usual dilemma AMD faces.
