My understanding is that in that part of the world such hacking is considered no more than aggressive competition. Just as on this board, many consider antitrust violation to be no more than aggressive competition.

If it were open source it wouldn't even be an issue, would it? Sounds like another argument for open source! It could allow decreasing the size of government agencies like the FBI. <g>

Some might consider reverse engineering illegal; apparently you don't. Some would consider antitrust violations illegal; apparently many here don't.
