'advanced' instead of 'properties' is what gets me there Mark No,its the route as I originally posted.There is no advanced tad involved in IE 5.5 toolbar or Control panel Internet Options.Perhaps Netscape has a different route. The settings can also be accessed from the ISP icon which displays the connect to box(password,phone number,etc.There it's Properties/Dialing. Ed Tools/internet options/connections/settings/properties/dialing/Enable idle disconnect/Disconnect when connection may not be needed"
