Vice President Al Gore has seen his
lead dwindle in Missouri and Illinois, but
he remains ahead of Texas Gov. George
W. Bush.

However, the Democratic presidential
nominee's 2.6 percentage-point
advantage in Missouri is "a statistically
insignificant slight lead," said pollster John
Zogby. It's well within the margin of
error.

In Illinois, Gore holds a 7 percentage-point lead - less than half the edge
he held in early September over Bush, the GOP nominee.
