<<I think the real lesson to be learned here is knowing when to sell. >>

This is very true. I could make better use of sell stops but that has problems too as the MM's can see them and on thin stocks this is a good way to get taken out.

<<The answer seems to be that the selling is unrelated to the company because the buying was unrelated to the company>>

Not sure I follow you. You go on to comment on POS. I don't think POS was the reason for buying BAY. I bought it because it was undervalued and had a very good chance of increasing reserves by a large margin. Which they have done. And they had lots of CASH. Later speculators/traders moved in think there was going to be a takeover and we all got caught up in that mania. Price spiked to $3+. If I was going to sell that would have been the time to do it.

This company is the same as it has always been: a solid jnr. with cash sitting on a very good silver mine. I think it is the investor that has changed not the company.

As this discussion started out: there appears to be new rules of investing in jr. resource companies. The old way of finding undervalued companies and holding does not seem to work like it used to. Your comments about treating them as options I thought was spot on and explains a lot to me about who and why people are buying jr. resource stock today.

If what you are saying is true then the average investor does not stand much of a chance as it is the real insiders that buy ahead of news and then sell the "option" as the good news is released. They are going to make the money. We are lambs to slaughter almost! This all takes "buy the rumour, sell the news" to a new level.
