Lew, if you think that the SOX and the chip industry in general is approaching bottom (I don't), then SSTI is one of the better plays in this space. Another school of thought may say that what is happening in DRAMdom now (falling prices like falling knives) is only a precursor to what might happen in flash (commoditization and over capacity), then you may want to step aside for a little longer. I for one am playing SSTI, but only for very short "bursts", until it becomes clear to me that their own product diversification program insulates them well from the manias of the market, but more importantly, until the sector gets to distress valuations (SOX 400 or so anyone?). Even if Yeh manages to insulate his company from the chip cycle, the stock price will be depressed until the cloud has passed over the industry, IMTO. Yeh expects earnings in 2001 to reach $2.90/share and the stock is selling at around $20.
