OK, then why did they mess up the design so bad? Even before that, why did they go with such a risky interface design that Rambus is for something not in "the top ten" for PC performance? You don't need 400 MHz signals, with data present on both edges (800 Mbit/sec.) on the memory interface in a PC. It just is not necessary, and using "normal" digital design techniques to implement it just does not cut it. If they used an "A" team, it did not include people with VHF design experience, or they weren't heeded. Something went wrong.
