Chuck,

The point I was making was that no one, and I mean no analyst or investor, knows what Athlons "sold out" means. Do you? What unit shipments has Jerry predicted for Athlons for Q4? And how can anyone possibly miss a forecast that has not even been given?

They know what Sanders said during the CC...that revenues for the year are expected to be $4.8 billion, that ASPs are not expected to change materially from Q3 to Q4, that revenues are expected to grow in the high single digits sequentially......sounds like a creditable forecast to me. In addition, since the CC, analysts have raised the estimated Q4 number to $.70, an increase of $.08.....a very big jump for one 7 day period that I suspect was prompted by Sander's comments in the CC.

A five percent reduction in sales(as discussed in my original post) could seriously effect that forecast, lowering sequential percentage revenue growth as well as reducing Jerry's $4.8 projected annual revenue number for 2000. In addition, it could negatively effect estimated ESPs and overall ASPs.

Should that scenario transpire, do you not think AMD would warn?....which is getting back to my original premise.

I rest my case.

LOL. What case are you talking about? You took my original premise, amended it and then migrated to your conclusion.
Your case is rested, mine is not.
