A friend from Saskatchewan, after returning from a reunion at his university, told me two thirds of his classmates that graduated with medical related degrees went to the US.
Taxes here are a killer and the wages in the US are much higher.
In my community, as doctors have retired or moved away over the last decade, they have been replaced with immigrants, mostly from South Africa. There has to be something wrong when born Canadians leave in hoards when there is such a high demand for them.
Our medical system is definitely in need of repair......unfortunately it is a liberal sacred cow and they prefer to play politics with it instead of admitting there are problems and then getting to work to fix them. Sadly, while things keep deteriorating, people that have been conditioned to believe in the system are dying prematurely because of it.
