JC's Site: Possible Big Scoop involving Dell/P4 vs Athlon/DDR First.. he is compiling the AMD-760 reviews here: jc-news.com But this is the kicker of the whole page as far as I am concerned if this is true: "My personal contribution to all this AMD760age? Thanks to ... an anonymous fellow for popping by the following quote: "there was a big show-down in PC World and/or PC Mag planned for the Dec issue showcasing the performance of AMD's Athlon DDR 2100 platform (thats what I want to call it - we'll see) Vs. P4. Dell pulled the P4 system when Dell found out the results. OUCH!". My friend here proceeded to comment that the Athlon using the new platform "clowns" the Pentium 4 in performance. Interesting, eh? This bit becomes especially striking with today's other magazine news item (mentioned earlier) about P4-1.50 being only 11% faster than a PC133-only 1.10GHz Athlon. Well, with hope Intel will be able to squeeze out some more performance from their new platform before it is introduced." Editors addendum - I would trust most AMD people would probably think opposite of the last statement he makes about hoping Intel can get more performance out of it before release.. but then.. hes trying to be an objective hardware site :)
