I'm sorry to be rude, X... but do you have any idea what you're talking about here, or are you merely spouting the "party line"?

Withdrawing US forces from the Balkans, or certainly reducing US presence there does not equate to leaving NATO. In fact, if you remember your history correctly, it has been the US that has had been the major impetus behind the organization.

The Balkan crisis began with United Nations forces were unable to contain the situation. It then fell upon NATO to move in and take control.

Well OK..... now NATO has done it's part and it is now time for US NATO forces to be withdrawn and for the UN to once again take over the mission or to put it under EU control.

NATO is NOT a peacekeeping or nation building organization. It is a war-fighting structure designed to create a mutual defense network of member alliances.

NATO being forced to become involved in Yugoslavia was destabilizing enough.
