da cheif,

You could be right. The memory tends to get a wee bit foggy over 13 years. I do remember he called something correctly a good number of years back, and from a contrarian perspective as well. Perhaps I am mistaken in choosing the '87 crash. It may have been some other event. But I do remember his numerous television appearances, and at the time, they were lauding him. If memory serves, he may have even been on ABC's Nightline. I can't remember if CNBC was in existence yet at the time or not. Anyway, it's a moot point by now. As they say on the Street, "you're only as good as your last call", or "when's the last time you made me any money"... <g> I presume that the gentleman is relatively healthy and still in business, but I personally don't follow his career or his calls.

KJC

PS - SI's spell checker says I spelled "contrarian" incorrectly. I don't think so... Could I be wrong yet again? <g>
