Allen,

I must admit, I made my comments to Jack without having the full context of his comments on not trusting those who use a screen name with no e-mail address.

However, IMHO, regardless of the context and specifics, to have inferred that those of us who post with a screen name and no e-mail address can't be trusted, is simply an "out-of-bounds statement" that can't be substantiated.

I realize that nothing personal was intended, and I'm not offended in any way. And it's well known that, as you say, it's best to "believe only that which can be independently verified by sources with valid credentials". But I do have a problem with making both an explicit and inferential association between trust and one's screen name / e-mail address. I can see no connection there at all.

BTW, you are one of the few people I have bookmarked on my people list, and whose comments I highly respect. I've enjoyed following your comments over the past few months. This latest one is certaintly no exception. Thanks.

Ice
