TAIPEI (AP)--Opposition lawmakers threatened Monday to push for a no-confidence vote on President Chen Shui-bian's cabinet, bringing the five-month-old government closer to a major crisis.
The threat came amid building anger in the legislature over the government's decision last week to stop construction on the island's fourth nuclear plant, which is one-third complete. But it was uncertain whether the opposition could muster enough votes to force the cabinet to dissolve.
