NAR updates deep drill program in Nova Scotia

NAR Resources Ltd NRL
Shares issued 7,838,202 Oct 27 close $2.80
Mon 30 Oct 2000 News Release
Mr. George Elliott reports
NAR is well advanced toward the completion of its deep drill program on its
titanium-bearing heavy mineral sand deposit located near Truro, N.S. The
deposit extends some 69 square kilometres along the Shubenacadie River
northward to the eastern reaches of Cobequid Bay. Sonic Soil Sampling Inc.,
of Concord, Ont., was awarded the drill contract after a successful
demonstration of their equipment.
The purpose of the drill program is to confirm the positive interpretation
of the results from both the recently completed seismic survey and the 395
shallow drill holes that all ended in mineralization. The seismic survey
indicates the thickness of the deposit ranges from 10 metres to 18 metres
depending upon its location in the depositional basin. The initial drill
program, which will consist of 40 to 50 holes, is considered sufficient to
confirm the seismic survey results and establish a tonnage calculation.
Each hole is being drilled through the titanium-bearing heavy mineral sand
deposit and is stopped once it hits bedrock.
All collected core samples from the drill program are being sent to the
Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS) laboratory in Halifax for
assaying and mineralogical analysis. Assay results are expected within the
next 30 days.
James W. Reeves, director of metallurgy for NAR and formerly of DuPont
Corporation of Wilmington. Del., is currently in Australia supervising the
metallurgical program. The program is designed to establish the most
applicable method for maximum recovery of the different economic minerals
contained in the deposit. The results will assist the company in its plant
development design.

"forward-looking" statements.
