Yup. Not always, and I consider analysts in the "everyone else" group. An example of "not always" is the recent runup of Dell. The majority of investors were incredibly bullish, and the stock still took off after the earnings release. I played options on Dell and made money. Instead, I probably should have bought the stock.

The way that stocks look right now, I've started placing my limit orders on long term purchases by selling puts. At least if your limit doesn't get hit, someone pays you for placing it. If it does, you still get a discount from the original price.
