I just don't see the cable companies rolling out ANYTHING quickly. This industry is the leading example of how to drag your feet while the customer fails to get what they are demanding. I'm VERY curious why you think cable broadband services rollouts will increase in speed in the future?? The cost of building out the infrastructure to support cable broadband is the number one reason why cable companies will not move quickly (main office, headends, high speed backbones, etc). Add the logistics of wiring all the houses that want service (which is really the easiest part of the rollout,IMO). Add the accounting software, the staff, the debug time, etc.... It will literally be years before a majority of cable subscribers have "true" access and not some slimmed down, tiny fraction of what they could be getting because the cable company can't keep up with demand!
