So Bernie is gonna jettison G* to save Loral? (Kinda thought he would.) Ok, then I'll go ahead and plunk down a few bucks on Loral.

Other news which may be of importance to G* - Boeing is leading a consortium to try to rescue Iridium. I don't know the particulars, yet. I am guessing that Globalstar's limited success, if you can use the word "success", demonstrates that there is simply limited demand for expensive sat phones in the boondocks. The folks on the G* thread have been hoping that data would save them, but everyone with a cell phone can get data, already, and there's so many other ways to get data via satellite, and with more capacity. Like Thuraya, which demonstrates my point that regional sat service will make it and global will have a really hard time (unless it's GEO). Thuraya is a UAE company, at least they've got a lot of money.
