Transmeta...

as I am sure you know, the Innovator's Dilemma is not meant to be an investment guide in any way shape or form. It is more a history of how different firms deal with threats from disruptive technologies. If this does prove to be a disruptive technology, the book goes to great lengths to describe the advantages these new entrant firms have against established rivals.

Good luck Mark. I thought, in reflection, that The I.D. was a splendid and remarkable book. Those that haven't read it, and are more than casual hi-tech investors, should do so. The book does describe how small companies with a disruptive innovation burrow and erode away at the market leader from below. And describes how the market leader typically responds (ie, run upstream). The question I am posing to you is, how important is Transmetas potential D.I.? Even if it is discontinuous, how important is the market and how large? That's where I would be a little skeptical.

Please keep us advised.
