They may also raise reserves for bad loans a la Lucent. There was a report on CLECs showing Lucent and Cisco providing loans to ICGX which is near bankrupt. I understand some of these loans may be for for more than 100 percent of the purchase price - hard to believe.

As for COTR, Barron's still showed commercial hedgers heavy short S&P and long Yen.
