The point here is that while the number of civilian DOD
employees decreased, the size of the non-DOD part of the
government increased. This increase is absolutely
amazing given that the increased use of information
technology should have led to a *decrease* in clerical
govt jobs if the Fed govt had emulated what is
going on in the private sector or other parts of
the public sector. In my own university
there has been a sharp decrease in clerical staffing
during the last 8 years. So, all the reinvention
of Govt propaganda is 100% smoke and mirrors BS
from Al Bore.
