I just discovered your post, and find it interesting. I've read a good many investment books in the last few years with a view to developing an effective strategy for picking promising small cap stocks ($40 to $400M market cap), but most just cite criteria based on the traditional wisdom, with no data on why these criteria are relevant, or how important they are, relatively.

In your 1 Nov 96 post on EXAR (#46), you seem to be saying (rounded off) this:

Fair price = -8.0 + 10.1(current year earnings estimate) + 2.5(Current year earnings estimate - last year's earnings) + 0.4(Long Term Growth) + 0.1(% shares held by institutions) + 0.00043(Market Capitalization in Millions)

I can't come up with your $24 figure for EXAR. I'm using $1.37 for "last year's earnings". What's my problem?
