Excellent information about "The Optical Switch"

It seems as though the current announcement trend in the optical network space is clogged with the "our switching technology is faster then their switching technology" marketing game. I think that the answer to a more important question should be provided, such as whether or not; "our switching technology can be actually developed into a robust product (in an acceptable time-frame) that actually functions in a value add capacity to the network".

This article in my opinion conveys the basic concepts behind many of the switching technologies under development. Light Reading magazine really seems to dig down through all of the marketing layers and "get to the bottom of it" in this very well written article.
