Anybody following this new comm gear company called ASCX? Morgan Stanley said some nice things about it today when they initiated coverage: Initial Coverage from Morgan Stanley ASCX's family of switching platforms enables carriers to rapidly deploy packet based broad band communication services including voice, data, and multi-media over IP, ATM , TDM, and Frame Relay networks. We believe ASCX's current products will address at least 4.5B worth of communications equipment sales into access network equipment markets in C2003. Great start to a rapid growth story. ASCX's customers include leading next generation carriers like 2nd Century, Intermedia, Qwest, and UUNet. We expect these carriers, and other new and existing customers, to drive a rapid growth story. We believe we are just beginning to see the conversion of the access networks to broadband service capabilities, and think that ASC has the right product at the right time to take advantage of this trend. We initiate coverage of ASCX with an Outperform rating and a 12-month price target of $30. We believe ASCX has created an industry defining architecture that offers compelling value to carriers deploying broadband communication services. As a category leader, we expect ASCX to trade in-line with other leading next generation communication equipment companies.
