. If you plan on retiring tomorrow then this isn't a good thing... or if you're day trading... but long term CSCO will prevail... and even Luke implied as much in his piece stating that CSCO is still the premier company in thier sector.

I thought you might have learned from your LU experience. I guess not. Why do you talk about "longterm" your track record this year says you are dead wrong. LEH lowers his target on CSCO by 30-33% and you think it's a good thing. When will you learn. I agree csco was good for a little bounce of $45. Perhaps, if know one else downgrades it this week it could get back up to $50-55 in the next week as tax loss selling end and mutual fund money flows back into the market. Csco will be a gamble overnight on earnings. It could get the kind of hair cut NT got if the revenue numbers or guidance is negative. We all expect them to make the earnings numbers. I expect they will take a page out of MSFT's book and realize a big chunk of gains from investments to blow the earnings number away. They will most likely buy themselves another quarter or floating in the $45-65 area. I expect that the down trend will continue through next year and the year after. Unless of coarse, it gets smashed down to $20 or so and then can base for a while and perhaps move up slowly next year.

The macro economic environment won't go away. The "bond market is closed" for csco customers. The money just isn't there for massive capex spending that was and is priced into csco's share price. You can be that there will be bankruptcys and there will be reduced spending. And there will be a hard landing....
