Conexant (CNXT: news, msgs) rallied over 9 percent after the company will supply Next Level Communications (NXTV: news, msgs) with set-top box chips for Next Level's new digital set-top boxes. That is part of an agreement in which the companies will collaborate to enable high-speed digital subscriber line services. Separately, Conexant said it was working with Liberate Technologies (LBRT: news, msgs) to develop a "next-generation" set-top box platform for telecommunications companies and for cable operators. CNXT shares added $1.44 to $23.31
