Are you saying we should force companies to invest only in projects that have a payback of less than one calendar year? I'd really be interested in an answer to this. I remember once when the NDP pointed a finger at Highland Explorations (or something like that) for 'earning' 20 or 30 million dollars one year without paying tax. I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't look at it more closely. The company invested tens of millions in its exploration projects but didn't realize the return until the property was sold. Was the NDP suggesting that the company was actually profitable, just because it earned, say 30 million, after losing 50 million? They need some new accountants. -g
