NHC provides cross connect capability for Nortel Networks(TM) Loop Management
Interoperability and Integration Testing Complete
MONTREAL, Oct. 31 /CNW/ - DSLcon Europe - Copenhagen, NHC Communications Inc., (TSE: NHC), a leading provider of carrier class access and deployment solutions for the Broadband and Digital Subscriber Lines (DSL) service market, today announced positive results for the integration of NHC's newly named ControlPoint(R) system and Nortel Networks(TM) (NASDAQ: NT) Loop Management/Access Care application. NHC's ControlPoint(R) system will provide cross connect capabilities for Nortel Networks Loop Management application, providing Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) and Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) with end-to-end management of their DSL networks. "We evaluated a number of cross connect products available on the market," said Chris Drake, Director of Broadband Access Solutions, Nortel Networks Service Provider eBusiness Solutions. "NHC's ControlPoint(R) strength is its small footprint and its true any-to-any cross-connect capability. It provides a strong complement to our existing Loop Management application, offering additional flexibility in addressing customers' end-to-end management requirements." "The integration with Nortel Networks is a landmark event for NHC's development," said Sylvain Abitbol, President and CEO of NHC Communications. "NHC expects that a significant portion of its future revenue growth will be associated with supplying ControlPoint(R) to service providers as part of a complete solution." NHC's interoperability and integration with Nortel Networks is consistent with the Company's growth strategy with leading global Broadband and DSL solution providers. ControlPoint(R) is based on an open architecture that enables integration with a wide range of DSL solution providers.
