As you can see, the average performance difference is about 10% depending upon the benchmark.

10% improvement is a good news. For example, an increase in clock speed for 1.2 GHz to 1.3 GHz is about 5%, so using Athlon 1.2 GHz with DDR you get a performance that's almost as good as if you bought 1.4 GHz Athlon.

By the way, 10% performance increase vs. PC-133 SDRAM is much better than a performance decrease you get when using Rambus.
