Don, i think you're exactly right..this IS what is happening. my favored trading strategy of late has been to buy whatever seemed excessively weak on strong down days (so i have bought a collection of down-and-out techs in recent days), and sell and actually short the very same stuff after it has rallied ,while buying whatever has been weak again. it's a bit more work than i am accustomed to, but this is a trading market, not one where it makes much sense to marry positions.
