AMD in three-year flash memory deal with Nortel

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct 31 (Reuters) - Computer chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc.(NYSE: AMD) on Tuesday said it had agreed to supply networking technology firm Nortel
Networks Corp. (NYSE: NT) (TSE: NT) with the majority of its
flash memory requirements for the next three years.

Terms of the pact were not disclosed. AMD officials were not immediately available for comment.

"This agreement with AMD, our 1999 Supplier of the Year, assures supply of the critical flash memory products that are required to meet our continued growth in the optical, access, wireless and enterprise businesses," Ken Bradley, chief procurement officer of Nortel, said in a
statement.
