technological edge in the next five to 10 years, let's
take a look at some of the names. Altera, arm
holding, broadcom, conexant, intel, qualcomm,
microelectronics. Those companies morgan stanley
saying could have a technological edge going forward into the next five or seven
years. A favorable, bullish long term outlook on at least these companies from

thanks very much. This halloween probably finds many investors spooked by
what's happened to their portfolios just this month. Even with today's gains, the
s&p 500 and the nasdaq composite are headed for losses for the month of
october. For the s&p 500, it's been the worst october performance since 1997.
Through the early trading this morning, the index was down 2 on the month. A
dismal showing next to october gains in the past two years. The nasdaq's 11
retreat makes it the worse october for the index in 13 years going back to the
crash of 1987 when it fell 27. In contrast, the dow is looking pretty good.
