I don't know how scientific this is, but I'm not calling an end to semi upturn until the blank wafer guys like MEMC start making some money. As your link points out, that may be in 2001, as capacity gets tighter in the blank wafer area. Last downturn, WFR went from making millions to losing millions, and still hasn't climbed out of that hole, although the situation has been getting better. Once the blank wafer guys start making money again, I think the downturn will be around the corner.

Any soundness to this theory?
