Innovative's new product will eliminate the need to utilize long distance carriers and cut long distance bills by 50 percent
Sept. 14, 2000 (SEATTLE) -- Innovative Communications Technologies Inc. (OCT:ICTN) has launched its new Global Private Telecommunications Networks (GPTN) product in the Las Vegas region in association with its master distributor, Applied Communications. Las Vegas is one of the first stops on a six-month U.S. tour that will introduce private telecom networks coast to coast.
Innovative's GPTN enables all businesses to enjoy the benefits and cost savings of a private telecommunications network, which has been previously available to only the largest Fortune 100 corporations that could afford to build a private network. Foremost among these benefits is the GPTN's ability to cut a business's current long distance charges in half while doubling its long distance capacity.
"Not only can we deliver twice the amount of capacity at half the price of a company's current long distance bill, we will also provide similar savings with data, fax and video," said Barry Henthorn, CEO of Innovative. "Our revolutionary approach to combining proprietary packetization software and existing fiber optics networks will radically transform the telecommunications landscape as we know it."
Innovative's Voice Over Packetization Technology (VOPT) uses packet switching instead of traditional circuit switching when routing calls. With GPTN, calls begin and end on existing local lines, and use dedicated fiber optic networks for the long-distance portion of the call. By way of analogy, less efficient circuit switching methods give each car on a highway its own lane. Packet switching enables many cars to travel in the same lane at the same time.
"We enjoy excellent customer retention because we provide carrier Quality of Service at half the cost," said Henthorn, "and we are signing new contracts daily."
"The GPTN is truly scaleable and that permits Innovative to expand nationally and internationally at a rapid rate," Henthorn continued. "We plan on being in all major U.S. metropolitan regions by the end of the year and most major international markets by the end of 2001. Our proprietary technology and smart alliances with industry leaders across categories have placed Innovative at the leading edge of the revolution in the telecommunications industry. We have complete confidence in Applied Communications to support our distribution channels. This allows us to focus on our core competency, which is delivering the product."
Recently, Innovative has announced key alliances and partnerships with Global Crossing, Level 3, Cisco Systems, Exp@nets, and Applied Communications.
Since 1989, Innovative has been a pioneer in the development and positioning of private telecommunications networks for businesses in the Everett-Seattle-Tacoma-Olympia corridor of Washington State.
