Albert, Grove, Barret and Otellini never had to manage in the competitive environment.

If you were to ask Andy, I'll bet he'd say the mid 80s were plenty competitive enough for him. Going back further, before the IBM PC, when there was no clear cut microprocessor company leader among Intel, Motorola, Zilog, National, TI, Signetics and several more, that was very competitive.

To whom do you give credit for Intel rising to the top and being 3X greater than #2 in semiconductor sales?
