Monsky, HHD has indeed paid several entities to (tout) distribute information about its plans for the future. Smart business in my opinion because HHD is now SEC reporting, funded ($10/$15 million already announced with more coming), building a stellar management team of tried & tested veterans and moving along nicely with the best ECommerce format currently known to be in existence. Sams, Costco and BJ'S Wholesale are said to be currently considering using HouseHold Direct.Com's services - although they will not be in direct competition with HHD as you've implied. Together these BIG 3 generate $64 BILLION in revenues with estimates of $86 BILLION by 2003. One must remember though that Sams, Costco and BJ'S Wholesale are 'brick and mortar' companies. For them to consider an ECommerce relationship with HHD furnishing them certain services speaks in spades of the type of EBusiness model HHD is putting together. The civil/legal issues you refer to will not affect HHD's operations and are currently being resolved. You might want to catch up a little on what is currently going on.
