Flap, it seems you missed or are evading my point. Corporations do not suffer tax burdens. People do. Them people is us.

As to "tax loopholes and write-offs and slick CPAs and tax lawyers and such", I quite agree. Accountants and lawyers are generally high octane dudes and dudettes and should provide crucial services. When they are used to defend against constant changes in the tax code by the pickpockets in DC and the various state capitols, their potential societal contributions are wasted.

And, yes, corporate welfare stinks. As does Joe Worker forking over a third (actually, much, much more).

I'm hardly fond of GWB, but fear the alternative worse. Under Gore, the working man's taxes will increase, and what's left would buy less.
