Industry analysis using porter method.

1 The Threats that a new entrant faces in the industry
2 The Intensity of rivalry between the existing players.
3 Pressure from the substitutes.
4 The Bargaining Power of the buyers
5 The Bargaining Power of the suppliers.

New technologies pop out of nowhere witness nortel paying 3 bil for company with no revenue.Lucent getting blinsided by nortel.

Rivalry intense companies tripping over themselves to finance new deals.

Substitutes i see in portions of the market only like 3g/satelite etc.

Buyers have immense bargaining power as they are the biggest telecom providers around the world.

Suppliers don't have much power as witnessed by the financing deals.

Earlier in the year these dynamics were thrown out of whack
from shortage of parts.
That according to nortel now is not the case.

There you have my case any views or comments are appreciated.
