<If one invested $10,000> I did a similar calculation for 1990-1999 using historical data from quote.yahoo.com. It did not make such an extreme difference as you cited. The amount gained from (Oct1 to March31) vs (April 1 to Sept31) were in the ratio of 2:1 . .
