Tom's different than most of us--though he cares about people and can be extraordinarily generous, he doesn't get attached to certain notions that most of us build our lives on. He doesn't really "need" anybody. He's not looking to be loved or safe in the way that most people are. He often says, "If you walk through that door, great, if you don't, great." He's on good terms w/ both ex wives and I'm sure if he asked them ANY favor large or small they would do it without thinking. I wish I could tell you the story in more detail but it's not mine to tell. You have to see it up close to believe it but he's just not a person that suffers. The buddhists say, Life is suffering, and all suffering is caused by attachment. And he doesn't have that.

He's a very refreshing person in the most original sense and someone to try and learn how to be more like.
