I have been long on S3 for 18 months, and the stock has me baffled. The company had a tough quarter ending 6/96, but since then, revenues, earnings, and margins have tracked up nicely each quarter. Design wins and market share are impressive. And yet, the stock has floundered and is trading at a p/e of 10.6, while the semiconductor sector as a whole is trading at 20.9.

Does anyone have a clue as to why S3 should be trading at such a steep discount? Can anyone guess when the genie will come out of the bottle?
