good news for SDLI: Alcatel will provide to 360networks for 1,5 billion to two billion dollars equipment

PARIS, October 31 (Reuters) - Serge Tchuruk, chairman from Alcatel, declared Tuesday that
Alcatel will provide to 360networks for 1,5 billion to two billion dollars equipment within the
framework three contracts relating to world optical networks.

" In all, the whole of the equipment which will deliver Alcatel to 360networks will represent
1,5 to 2 billion dollars ", it declared at the time of a conference call presenting industrial and
financial alliance tied between the two groups.

Alcatel has (Paris: 13000.PA - topicality ) summer chosen by the Canadian group to provide
him 360pacific, a 22.000 km length transpacific underwater network, a contract from
approximately 1,1 billion dollar.

The equipment supplier telecom will also provide a second transatlantic network -
360atlantic2, a contract whose amount was not specified. This network will come to
supplement the network 360atlantic on which the two groups had already contributed.

Finally Alcatel saw itself allotting by 360networks a contract of at least 100 million for the
supply of optical equipment for ground networks.

Within the framework of an alliance with the Canadian group, Alcatel had previously
announced its intention to acquire, in two sections, for a billion dollar of convertible obligations 360networks, expiry
2012,
carrying an annual interest rate of 7,25%. / BVO
