I would like to see me have a group meeting of our employees and tell them, "I want you to write a check for x amount right now to candidate x." I don't know their response but I can assure you it wouldn't be favorable nor popular. Also, I would view that as a negative use of my role as a leader to do so. Our people have a right to support the candidate or candidates of their choice. Or, not contribution at all. It is unfortunate the labor unions force people to sometimes contribute to causes they do not believe in.
