I don't think the problem is poor execution or bad management. No, it's worse than that. The problem is simply that this concept (a low-earth-orbit satellite communications network) is an abandoned technology. No matter how good you are (at marketing, management, financing, developing the technology, etc.), you can't sell if there is no market. 2 years ago, when I looked at this market, I thought, "there are going to be 4 or 5 groups spending big bucks on these satellite networks, but the market can only support 1 or 2. Since I'm not smart enough to figure out who the survivors will be, and the losers lose everything, it's a risky area to invest in." Well, I was wrong. The market will support zero. |
