Thank you for the comments. I suspect in the near end, we will be in disagreement. I think 1987 was not the same as 2000 and you seem to be betting that it is. With respect, I would submit that your market situation illustrates one of the (to me) differences that make 2000 different: margin. The amount of margin now is significantly and substantilly greater than then.

There are other differences including, much higher valuations and lack of ability by the Fed to react as it did in 87 to increase the money supply.
