Doug Re...Jerry set the tone for being late on dresden, duron infrastructure, multi-processor chipsets, mobile chipsets, and integrated chipsets. He set the tone for the worst public relations I've ever seen, for marketing that is down right pathetic.

How does your answer in any way remotely answer the question. What has setting the tone on Dresden have to do with Jerry setting the right atmosphere such that AMD seemingly has the ability to attract top notch engineers and apparently provides an atmosphere which gives them the freedom to innovate. How pathetic can AMD's marketing be when AMD gains market share against the mighty Intel with all of their marketing expertise? What good has come of all of the marketing Intel is doing? Intel warned, AMD didn't. As far as infrastructure is concerned; AFAIK AMD has never in the past produced any chipsets except for basic chipsets in order to start a new chip introduction. Many companies use outside suppliers. Intel has many yrs. of designing and producing their own chipsets; but where has it gotten them? Do you have any proof that AMD could have produced a better chipset than Via. Do you have any proof that AMD had extra fab capacity to make such chipsets. Do you have any proof that it wasn't a wise business decision to delay Dresden until it was needed? If you have proof for any of this send a link.

Sure, if someone said the company was no good, I expect him to defend it, but he's abbraisive and antagonistic whether he is attacked or not. <<<

S E N D A L I N K where Jerry has been abrasive to any analyst in the last yr. You obviously are listening to some CC or interviews where you have gleened this damaging info. Send a link to just one if you can, which demonstrates such an attitude, within the last 15 months.

Not all analysts are Ashok Kumar, and if Jerry was only rude and abbraisive to him I would applaud his efforts. <<

I didn't ask for just Ashok. I asked for a link to any analyst. I assume this means you have no intention of providing a link. Nice try at weaseling though.

GM is a totally irrelevent comparison since the auto industry is not a high growth industry.

And neither is the PC industry if you listen to your favorite buddies, the analysts.

NSM and LSI have both forcasted doom and gloom ahead of them with declining earnings, and LSI still has a trailing multiple of 5x ours.<<

Huh, I invest in LSI. In their 2q-00 conference Lsi missed their revenue no. by 20 mil. but made its EPS and forecasted good growth for 3q-00. LSI 3q-00 was a very good quarter with an upbeat projection. Yet the price dropped from 32.5 to 27. This came from analysts who think they know better than the CEO; not because of bad quarter or forecast.

AMD is expecting another record breaking quarter ahead of them with more to come after that<<

Once again, you seem to be hearing something the rest of us didn't. AFAIK AMD projected 3-6% in revenues in a quarter which normally has a larger increase. AMD also projected weak sales of Duron and didn't speculate on 2001. What was bullish about that.

How do you win a jihad against the analysts? <<

Who is conducting the jihad here? Without any links to back up your statements, you are the one conducting a jihad against Jerry.

You seemed to have missed my entire point, I like AMD the company, I like their product, I didn't buy stock in Jerry, I bought stock in the athlon, I bought stock in the flash division.

You sure had me fooled. Just read your very own words in this letter. Jerry set the tone for being late on dresden, duron infrastructure, multi-processor chipsets, mobile chipsets, and integrated chipsets. He set the tone for the worst public relations I've ever seen, for marketing that is down right pathetic. < Marketing is lousy, chipsets are a problem, Dresden is late, and you like the company?????

I own the stock because I think AMD can win inspite of Jerry Sanders not because of him,<<<

Which is the exact opposite of what investing books tell you. If you don't trust management, get rid of the stock. Quit giving me excuses. You can always buy AMD later when Hector takes over.
