There's a lot in what you say.

The idea of no public schools, for example, is silly in this day and age. When our economy was based on farming and artisanship, education was a luxury and not a necessity.

And in an era where monarchy was the accepted form of government, an educated population was not necessary (in fact, may have been contrary to) the stability of the state.

Not so in today's economy. Our form of government depends on literate citizens (the lack of whom is one of the reasons our government is so screwed up.) Our economic success as a society depends on an educated population and workforce. To suggest that poor people don't need/deserve education is just silly and counterproductive.

Fortunately, most libertarians i know don't agree with these party positions.
