El, the run up is more on hype than anything else, IMO, since HWP, IBM, and GTW are also down. MD is going to be on CNBC Friday morning, and he has an analyst conference scheduled for Monday. The topics will not be so much the revenues, but the other aspects of growth such as products and services. I suspect there will also be some pointed questions about how Compaq is doing vis-a-vis Dell in the server space, where the Proliant line is getting a pretty great reputation and increasing its share.

The volume in Dell is nearly triple that of Compaq's today. I usually notice it to be about double. FWIW, I-Watch shows a lot of selling interest in Dell, as well as some in Compaq, but sporadically. There are very large super buy interest indications below the bid, tending to draw down the price for a lower-priced fill. I suspect more managers want in at lower prices for both stocks.

I get the impression we are in a process of going from a correction to a phase of rolling rallies where a different sector rallies each day. Given where we've come from, I am happy to be back at this level.

Good luck.
