Hi Zeev Hed; Re: "if my "conspiracy" theory (INTC wants AMD to be a mushroom, being kept in the dark and fed ....) is correct" While mom and pop really have no idea what is going into next year's products, it would be ludicrous to suggest that Intel or AMD is unaware of the basic facts about memory technologies. Intel's public statements are made for marketing purposes, not to hide stuff from AMD. Same with AMD. If Intel admitted that they were gradually stepping away from RDRAM, it would reduce sales of their P4, as it is only supported by RDRAM right now. Intel said the same thing about P133 as they recently said about DDR, but they came around in P133 and will come around in DDR. Like the VIA guy said, sometimes history does repeat itself. But don't take the public pronouncements of either company as an indication of anything other than their desire to do business - and sell processors. Everybody reads the same trade journals, and if that weren't enough, AMD and Intel hire each other's engineers constantly. It just isn't possible for either company to be unaware of what the other is doing. -- Carl
