Talk about being out-of-favor (but perhaps bottoming/turning): Analysts complain about the glut of capacity coming on line in 2001 and 2002, say "don't buy the semis" (regardless of niche), blah, blah... Then, days later, these same analysts downgrade the chip-equipment makers' stocks, stating that they will be selling less equipment to new factories next year (orders for new equipment are being/will be cut)....etc. Do the chip stocks rally on this news? No, they get a further hit! Huh? Damned if you do, damned if you don't...
